⭐FTC Visits AETHER JOLT Media Co., Ltd. for Advertising Compliance Review

On the afternoon of August 29, representatives from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Division of Advertising Practices and the American Advertising Federation (AAF) visited Aether Jolt Media Co., Ltd. as part of an industry-wide initiative to strengthen advertising compliance across digital content and MCN organizations.

The delegation included:

  • Jordan Reyes, Chief of Digital Advertising Oversight, FTC

  • Emily Carter, Senior Compliance Officer, FTC

  • Mark Ellison, Membership Director, American Advertising Federation

During the visit, the FTC team toured Aether Jolt Media’s production facility to gain a deeper understanding of U.S. MCN content workflows, creator development models, short-form content production, and branded advertising integration.

Sarah Mitchell emphasized that the purpose of the visit was part of a broader “Compliance in Commerce” national initiative, aimed at providing early compliance guidance to fast-growing digital content companies.She encouraged Aether Jolt Media to maintain ongoing communication with regulators and take an active role in establishing “co-governance mechanisms” between industry and government, to strengthen national advertising standards and public trust.


Compliance Review Findings

Aether Jolt Media’s leadership reported on the company’s internal advertising compliance program.The FTC delegation affirmed the company’s efforts, especially in the areas of content review, creator education, and brand-safety protocols.

Using examples from well-known past U.S. false-advertising cases, Jordan Reyes conducted an on-site Q&A session about:

  • Hidden promotional content in narrative videos

  • Risks of deceptive performance claims

  • Required substantiation standards

  • Applicable sections of the FTC Act and Truth in Advertising laws

He stressed two key recommendations for MCN organizations:


1. Maintain Comprehensive Advertising Archives

  • Regularly update supporting documentation

  • Verify accuracy and substantiation for all claims

  • Provide truthful and complete records when cooperating with FTC inquiries


2. Strengthen Internal Content Review Mechanisms

  • Implement a formal 3-stage review system

  • Standardize approval workflows

  • Ensure early detection and prevention of non-compliant advertising content
